Coagulation, 15x30 inches

$3,750.00

Oil on canvas
15 × 30 inches

Coagulation brings multiple bodies into a single gesture. Each figure is distinct—different ages, different postures—yet none exist independently. Weight is shared. Balance is negotiated. Movement passes from one body into the next.

The work is not about harmony. It’s about proximity—what happens when lives press together out of necessity. How we change with and for one another. How we resist the very connection that keeps us upright.

The figures are nude without idealization. Skin carries age, strength, fatigue, softness. Light moves unevenly across the bodies, drawing attention to points of contact—hands, shoulders, backs—where touch becomes a form of exchange. The surrounding space is dark and compressed, holding the group close, limiting distance.

This painting sits at the core of Metanoia. It marks a moment of becoming that is collective and unresolved. The bodies are still negotiating how they move forward—together.
